| American Bible Society American Bible Society's mission is to make the Bible available to every person in a language and format each can understand and afford, so all people may experience its life-changing message. They carry out their mission in many important ways. They affirm the power of God to speak to every generation through the Holy Scriptures. They provide translations of the Bible that are faithful to the wording of the original language biblical texts. ABS works in partnership with all Christian churches and Christian communities. They produce materials that avoid endorsing or advocating any doctrinal positions. And finally they utilize appropriate communication tools that allow the Word of God to come alive in individual and public life. American Bible Society Website | Child Evangelical Fellowship of York County This ministry (CEF) provides interdenominational programming aimed at reaching children for the Lord Jesus Christ. They offer opportunities for children to learn about our Savior. There are clubs, day camps, seasonal clubs, correspondence courses, and print materials for children. | First Hispanic Church of York | GladCorp. (Brian & Denise Fitz) GladCorp believes that all people, no matter their race, religion or origin, have a need for basic human dignity. They long to live a purposeful, productive life, one in which they have some control in providing for themselves the requirements of daily living. GladCorp's purpose is to empower people with the resources necessary to meet these needs so they can stand tall and provide for their families and communities. | Habitat for Humanity (York) York Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with God and people from all walks of life to build and renovate houses, so that there are decent homes in decent communities where people can experience God's love and grow into all that God intends. They are a people-to-people partnership whereby families in need work side-by-side with volunteers. Habitat is committed to the development and uplifting of families and communities through their unique home-ownership program. Their program is based on the conviction that Christian discipleship must be lived out in practical ways, through loving and serving one another. York Habitat for Humanity Website | Heifer International Heifer's mission is to work with communities to end hunger and poverty and to care for the earth. Heifer does this by providing appropriate livestock, training and related services to small-scale farmers and communities worldwide. Heifer International Website | Henderson Misison - Redbird School This ministry is part of the body of Christ. They meet basic needs in Appalachia through God's love. They provide outreach services, tutoring and adult education, a senior center, transportation, youth ministries, day care and emergency shelter to the people in South Eastern Kentucky. They seek ways to counteract the impoverishing factors of a rural, isolated community and to be a place where Christians are also ministered to through the opportunity to serve. | Jim Keech | McCurdy School McCurdy School is a project related to the General Board of Global Ministries. It is a school that is committed to providing quality education in a Christ-centered environment. They help students develop a Christian value system and encourages them to acknowledge a rich cultural diversity. They empower students to develop a life-long love for learning and equip them with strong skills in writing and math computation. They help guide students to reach their highest potential as Children of God. McCurdy School Website | Mission Central Mission Central is the mission warehouse of the Central PA Conference of the United Methodist Church. Mission Central began in June 2002 and has since hosted thousands of volunteers. With the help of our volunteers, we process United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) 'Relief Kits' for use around the world, provide all types of needed supplies for local and national ministries and assist many projects that are sending God's love around the world. | Neighborhood Center, Harrisburg Neighborhood Center has served the Harrisburg Community since 1910 with educational, cultural, social service, basic needs, leadership and recreational programs for children and their families. They specialize in helping young people discover and develop their capabilities, so that their lives and the life of the community can be enhanced. | SEND Int'l (Myers - Budapest) Linc & Kaye Myers work in Budapest at the International Christian School. Linc teaches in the high school and Kaye works in the business office. Together they work to help serve those families who are missionaries by providing education for the children. The school also has local children as well. | Servants, Inc. Servants is a Christian organization here in York County, Pa. Founder, Trent Davis, started this organization in 2000. The vision of Servants is to serve people in need in our country and abroad, to make disciples of all nations and to enable others to serve in whatever way Christ has called them to serve. Servants Website | Sierra Leone - Well Drilling Project This initiative helps with many areas of life in Sierra Leone. Support of this ministry helps to create wells for fresh water, a park & retreat center, medical clinics, and schools for children of all ages. This is a ministry connected with all churches in the Susquehanna Conference & The UMC of Sierra Leone. |
| Society of St. Andrew This ministry partners with farmers, volunteers, financial supporters and hunger relief agencies to bridge the hunger gap simply and effectively by salvaging fresh food that will go to waste and delivering it to those in need. They have many different projects including: The Potato Project, Seed Potato Project, Gleaning The Fields, and Harvest of Hope. Society of St. Andrew's Website | The WELL This organization seeks to meet the needs of individuals and families in the community who are in need of emergency food. They provide services with an attitude of Christian compassion. All clients are given a 3-day supply of food based on their family size and are permitted to use the services once a month. | Changing Destinies Outreach & Eastside Church Ministry This local ministry provides many resources to the people of York. They offer many free meals in the Inner City of York, as well as providing groceries, clothing, furniture and other necessities. This ministry opperates under the premise that we should produce something in the lives of others that will ultimately show them that there is a God who loves them. | House of Hope York, Pa House of Hope is dedicated to help hurting and lost teens find their way back to God and their family. They provide counseling services for individuals and families and eventually will provide a residential program. House of Hope York Pa Website | Bell Family Shelter (Homeless Services) Bell Family Shelter provides thirty-day emergency housing, intensive staff support for securing permanent housing, referrals to vital community resources for follow-up services & support, transitional housing through Bridge Housing for up to a year to work on long-term goals.
